Katherine M. Ungar is the Director of Business Development. With a dynamic career spanning roles in management consulting, healthcare, and Property Casualty Reinsurance, Katherine has a proven record of accomplishment in driving revenue growth and forging impactful client relations. She leverages her extensive expertise to enhance the firm’s market presence and client acquisition strategies. Katherine's multifaceted approach, combining analysis, consultative sales, and robust marketing strategies, has consistently delivered exceptional outcomes, making her an invaluable asset to Thrivence's growth and success.
Prior to Thrivence, Katherine served as the Global Director of Business Development for the Healthcare Industry at North Highland Consulting. Her strategic interaction with key healthcare companies and C-suite executives facilitated the development of innovative go-to-market strategies and client solutions.
Previously, she held the position of Manager of Business Development at Atlantic Health System in New Jersey. Katherine focused on the Executive Health Concierge Program, increasing annual revenue twentyfold and securing significant corporate medical service contracts.
Katherine has a distinguished insurance background, serving in past positions that include Senior Underwriter for Chubb Insurance Group and Second Vice President at General Reinsurance Corp (Berkshire Hathaway Inc). She attained two professional designations: Charter Property Casualty Underwrite (CPCU) and the Associate in Reinsurance (ARe).
Katherine holds a BS Marketing and Technical Communications from Clarkson University and an MBA with concentrations in Economics and International Business from the University of Chicago.
Through extensive volunteer work and as an active civic leader, community service has always been important to Katherine. Currently she serves as a Board Member on the American Heart Association Go Red for Women Executive Leadership Team for Middle Tennessee. During her years living in New Jersey, Katherine was honored to be nominated by Governor Chris Christie and approved by the New Jersey Senate, to serve on the Educational Facilities Authority Board for 5 years, including elected as Vice Chair of the Board for two terms. Katherine and her husband are proud parents to their four children.
